Surprisingly, I have only found one pair of surviving twins in my direct line.
My great great grandmother, Mary Ann Gibbs, was a twin with her brother, Thomas Henry Gibbs.
Hannah Surry (nee Jeffrey) had twins with Robert Surry - John and Mary Surry Baptised 7 April 1789 and Buried 11 April 1789, Great Chesterford.
Madge Moxley (nee Clement), granddaughter of Henry Carter and Lucy Pond, had twins Maria and Jack in the 1930s (Thanks, Jack)
Ann Maria Middleditch (nee Bourne; granddaughter of Nathaniel Middleditch #2) had premature twins on 29 April 1844 in Danbury - tragically both daughter Ann Maria and son Nathaniel died the same day.
That doesn't mean to say that there aren't any other twins in the family - I haven't uncovered any, that's all. It took an elderly relative to point out the Gibbs twins to me, when the evidence was plain as a pikestaff!.
